If your ZEN51 Dry Contact Relay goes offline or is unresponsive to Z-Wave commands, try the steps listed below:
Sometimes, interferences like metal elements and thick walls can affect the sensor's range. Range is determined by the individual structure of your home and the strength of your mesh network. If you're seeing connectivity issues with your relay, here are several things to try:
1. If there's a way to refresh your Z-Wave network, start with this. A refresh or a heal will help configure your network and allow your hub to find the most effective communication route to the relay.
2. Try excluding and re-including the relay directly from the installation location. Potentially, the hub hasn't found the most efficient communication route to the device. Occasionally, this happens when you include a device near the hub and then move it away to be installed.
3. Try bringing the relay and the hub closer together, then exclude it and re-include it from the new spot. If the device is added, stays connected, and is responsive to remote commands, it's possible the initial location was out of the hub's range, or there are too many interferences in that area.
