Here is a list of the changes and updates we made to the ZAC36 Titan Water Valve Actuator so far.

VER. 1.0 (released 8/2021)

Original release.
Hardware:

  • 700 Series Z-Wave chip
  • Smart auto-calibration process
  • IP 66 outdoor rating
  • Included 4.75' water leak probe
  • Installation Requirements: 0.5" - 1.25" ball valves only; 3" clearance from the valve center to each side on the pipe, at least 1.25" clearance between the valve handle and the pipe, at least 1" clearance between the pipe and the wall
  • Built-in LED and sound indicator
  • Built-in temperature sensor

Firmware: 1.10

  • Adjustable reporting behavior

  • Direct association settings

  • Adjustable temperature reporting

  • Adjustable LED and sound indicator behavior

VER. 1.12 (released 9/2021 as OTA)

Firmware: 1.12

  • Optimized the calibration alghorithm

  • Added a new setting for minimum pulse count for calculation of the open/close cycle (parameter 22, values 10-99, default: 38)

VER. 1.13 (released 9/2021 as OTA)

Firmware: 1.13

  • Added a new setting for temperature detection interval (parameter 45, values 1-60, default: 5)

VER. 1.14 (released 12/2021 as OTA)

Firmware: 1.14

  • Disabled the battery command class if power bank isn't connected (a battery entity is no longer created automatically after inclusion)

VER. 1.15 (released 4/2022 as OTA)

Firmware: 1.15

  • Added a new setting for manual calibration offset (parameter 99, values 1-10, default: 9)

VER. 1.19 (released 9/2023 as OTA)

Firmware: 1.19

  • Added new settings to enable notification reports (parameters 81-86) for Water Valve, Overheat, Freeze, Water Leak, AC Power, and Battery Notification Reports. See all settings here.

  • Added Binary Switch Report (0xFE - Unknown) for situations when the actuator gets stuck in the middle of an open/close cycle.

  • Added Binary Switch Report to notify the hub once the actuator regains power after it's disconnected or after a power outage.

  • Removed the Power Management Notification if the battery backup accessory ZAC92 is not connected to the actuator.

  • Removed battery configuration is the battery backup accessory ZAC92 is not connected to the actuator.

  • Updated the Battery Command Class to V2.

  • Both values of the Binary Switch/Basic Set are now accepted if the actuator is manually stopped in the middle of an open/close cycle.

VER. 1.21 (released 1/2024 as OTA)

Firmware: 1.21

  • Fixed the issue of BATTERY_GET returning V1 instead of V2

  • Support the Battery Command Class V2 regardless of whether battery backup has been plugged in or not

VER. 1.24 (released 4/2024 as OTA)

Firmware: 1.24

  • Fixed the auto-close function when a low battery alert is triggered and the backup battery is connected and charging. The valve will not auto-close anymore.
  • Fixed the battery level report issue not showing 100% when the backup battery is fully charged.
  • Correct the battery status display from 'discharging' to 'maintaining' when the backup battery is fully charged.

VER. 2.0 (released 07/2024)

Hardware: 4

  • 700 Series Z-Wave chip
  • The metal casted transmission fork was changed to the new high-quality plastic (UV proof acetal homopolymer) transmission fork. This new-generation plastic transmission fork can fit lower-profile valves and will not damage the metal valve lever over time. 

Firmware: 2.00

  • Based on 1.24 firmware (see above)
  • Long Range ready

Firmware: 2.10 (released 09/2024)

  • Fixed a bug: Temperature reporting frequency is now reporting correctly in minute intervals set in parameter 45.
