This is product is discontinued and replaced with the ZEN74. What does that mean?
Exclusion is the first thing to try.
You can exclude the dimmer even if it was never included since exclusion is a kind of reset. Start by trying to include the dimmer to Vera again. It should be added as a Generic Z-Wave device. Once inclusion times out, try the steps below:
1. Tap the green Retry button in the bottom right corner of the app - this will put Vera into exclusion mode.
2. Toggle the switch DOWN 3 times quickly.
3. Once exclusion goes through, Vera will automatically go back to the inclusion screen and start searching for the dimmer.
4. Toggle the switch UP 3 times quickly to include it.
If exclusion and re-inclusion just isn't working out, here are some other things to try:
- Let's give exclusion another go. It's always possible the exclusion commands from the first attempt weren't registered correctly.
- Try the inclusion process again, only this time instead of toggling 3 times, toggle the switch 6 or 7 times at least as quickly as possible. This can help make sure the commands go through.
- If possible, try bringing the Vera within direct range of the switch if you were at a large distance the first time. If you have a hand-held secondary controller, try using it to complete the inclusion process.
- And if you find that your dimmer is connected but it's not responded to remote commands, check out these tips for troubleshooting range and connectivity issues on Vera.
